Description
The Fujifilm X-T50 is a mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera (MILC) with a 40.2 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and a compact, lightweight silver body. It delivers high-resolution stills up to 7728 x 5152 pixels, native ISO sensitivity down to 125 and expandable to ISO 51200, and offers advanced video capabilities including internal 6.2K/30p recording. The camera combines tactile controls—shutter speed, exposure compensation and a new Film Simulation dial—with a 2.36M-dot electronic viewfinder, a tilting 3″ touchscreen LCD and up to 7.0 stops of in-body image stabilization for stable, flexible shooting.
Advantages
The X-T50 pairs a high-resolution 40.2MP sensor and X-Processor 5 for detailed image quality with improved signal-to-noise performance. Fast and accurate subject detection AF uses deep-learning AI to track people, animals, vehicles and other subjects. Physical dials and an available aperture ring provide direct control over exposure and Film Simulation settings, while the compact, rounded body and pronounced thumb grip offer a comfortable hold. Video features include internal 6.2K/30p, 4K/60p, 1080/240p high-speed modes, F-Log and F-Log2 for extended dynamic range, and native Frame.io Camera to Cloud support.
Suitable for
- High-resolution photography (landscape, studio and commercial stills)
- Travel and street photography requiring a compact, lightweight camera
- Hybrid shooters who capture both stills and high-quality video
- Portrait and wildlife photography benefiting from subject-detection AF

How to use
Attach a compatible Fujifilm X-mount lens and set the main dials on the top plate for shutter speed, exposure compensation and Film Simulation. Use the aperture ring on supported XF lenses to set aperture. Compose using the EVF or the tilting touchscreen; touch to select and track a subject on the LCD in AF-C mode. For stills, choose Film Simulation modes and set ISO, shutter and exposure compensation as needed; for video, select the desired resolution and frame rate and enable F-Log or F-Log2 if grading in post. Use IBIS to reduce camera shake when shooting handheld.
Usage recommendations
For highest image quality, shoot RAW at low native ISO (ISO 125 when possible) and apply Film Simulation or F-Log2 in post-production when extended dynamic range is required. When tracking moving subjects, use AF-C with Wide/Tracking AF and confirm focus by touching the subject on the rear touchscreen. For stable video, combine IBIS with lenses that have optical stabilization and use 4:2:2 10-bit recording for better color grading headroom.
