Description
The FUJIFILM X-T50 is a compact mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera (MILC) body with a 40.2 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5 engine, designed to deliver high-resolution stills and advanced video capability in a lightweight silver body. It incorporates a rounded, ergonomic shape and a thumb grip for improved handling, a 2.36M-dot electronic viewfinder, and a tilting 3-inch touchscreen LCD. The camera offers up to 7.0 stops of in-body image stabilization (IBIS), native ISO 125 sensitivity, subject-detection AF using deep-learning AI, and a top-plate Film Simulation dial with 20 Film Simulation modes including REALA ACE.
Advantages
The X-T50 combines a high-resolution 40.2 MP sensor with improved image-processing to maintain signal-to-noise performance while increasing detail, and provides up to 7.0-stop IBIS for sharper handheld images. Hardware dials for shutter speed, exposure compensation and Film Simulation simplify control and allow quick adjustments without powering the camera on. Advanced AF with subject detection and updated prediction algorithms improves tracking for moving subjects and low-contrast scenes. Video features include internal 6.2K/30p 10-bit recording, 4K/60p, high-speed 1080/240p, F-Log and F-Log2 support for extended dynamic range, and Frame.io Camera to Cloud integration for immediate sharing.
Suitable for
- High-resolution photography where fine detail and color fidelity are required
- Hybrid shooters who need both stills and high-quality video (6.2K/30p, 4K/60p)
- Travel and street photography due to the compact, lightweight body
- Wildlife and action subjects benefiting from subject-detection AF and improved tracking
- Creators who use Film Simulation presets and in-camera creative effects

How to use
Attach a compatible XF or XC lens and set the aperture on lenses that provide an aperture ring if required. Use the top-plate dials to select shutter speed, exposure compensation and Film Simulation; these settings can be reviewed and adjusted without switching the camera on. For stills, choose an appropriate Film Simulation mode and AF setting (Single AF, Zone AF or Continuous AF) depending on subject motion; use subject-detection AF to track people, animals, vehicles and other detected subjects. For video, select the desired resolution and frame rate (including 6.2K/30p or 4K/60p), enable F-Log or F-Log2 for maximum dynamic range if planning color grading, and consider using Wide/Tracking AF with touch tracking on the LCD for reliable subject following.
Usage recommendations
For best image quality, shoot RAW or RAW+JPEG and use native ISO 125–640 where possible; enable IBIS when shooting handheld at slower shutter speeds. Use Film Simulation presets to preview color rendering in-camera, and choose F-Log2 when you need maximum dynamic range for post-production grading. When shooting fast-moving subjects, select AF-C with Wide/Tracking AF and touch the subject on the rear screen to improve tracking reliability.
